ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (April 1, 2022) - New user friendly software at the St. Louis County Recorder of Deeds office will improve and streamline the process for residents to apply for marriage licenses and deed recordings.
The upgraded software launches Friday, April 1.
Couples getting married will be able to apply for a marriage license from any electronic device and input their information directly into the form.
"St. Louis County has focused on ways to expand our digital services to further assist residents and show what modern and responsive government looks like," County Executive Dr. Sam Page said. "I'm proud of the work the Department of Revenue has done to continue to provide excellent customer service to our residents."
Here's how the new process will work:
Fill out the application from your phone, tablet or computerAttend a virtual appointment with the Recorder of Deeds officeCome in to pay for and pick up your marriage license The marriage license information is also now available online making it easier for those researching marriage records.
Additionally, document recordings for deeds will also be faster and more accurate. Search functions have been enhanced and can be done via the mobile-friendly Laredo Anywhere app as well as online through Laredo Connect.
"This implementation has been necessary so we can provide the service St. Louis County residents deserve," said Gerald Smith, Recorder of Deeds. "Customers today expect online and streamlined options when interacting with their local government, and these upgrades help provide those capabilities."
