Description

TUSCALOOSA, AL —The very first Tuscaloosa Gauntlet 5K is set for Saturday, April 9 at the Buddy Powell Pavilion near Sokol Park, with proceeds going to benefit the Alabama Marines Foundation. Click here to subscribe to our free daily newsletter and breaking news alerts. The obstacle course race will include a newly-constructed Marine "O-Course" — a central part of the combat conditioning program every Marine trains with. The City of Tuscaloosa constructed its own O-Course in 2021, making Tuscaloosa and Auburn home to the state's only courses outside of a military facility. The 3.1-mile course is a Phoenix-built race course and an OCRWC qualifier, which will incorporate more than 20 obstacles. The race will be made possible through the coordination of the Alabama Marines Foundation, Tuscaloosa County Parks and Recreation Authority (PARA) and Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports.
