The Larry Peterson Jazz Ensemble will once again entertain guests during Easter Brunch at the Hilton Garden Inn, Auburn, Riverwatch on Sunday, April 17th. Events with this jazz ensemble have been sold out two weeks in advance in the past, Renowned drummer, Mr. Larry Peterson has been called "The Legend" for over 64 years in the music industry. Classically trained on horn and drums, he participated in marching band competitions throughout his years in Virginia in the 1960's. At the tender age of 19, while on the road with his R & B band, he was hired by Mr. Leon Claxton, of the Royal American Shows, and began travelling throughout the country and Canada, playing ten shows a day for the "Harlem in Havana" Review. (watch your listings for the documentary film of the same name coming to the Northeast soon!)  Most recently completing a Southeast tour with Wilson Williams and the Platters, Mr. Peterson has also performed for President George W. Bush in Kennebunk, Maine, the United States Air Force in Washington, D.C., the JVC Jazz Festival in Saratoga Springs, New York, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana, The Kora Shrine Band, and dozens of other jazz festivals throughout his years in the industry. In the span of sixty four years, his work has led to collaborations with Gary U.S. Bonds, the Drifters, Chubby Checker, Mary Wells, Bo Diddley, Vaughn Meader, Sammy Davis, Jr., Larry Coryell, Jimmy Durante, Dr. John, Greg Allman, B.B. King, Tab Benoit, Hulk Hogan, Aaron Neville, Sounds of Blackness and other national artists too numerous to name!  Mr. Peterson hopes to carry on the very important work of Mr. Louis Armstrong, known as the Ambassador of Goodwill throughout the world, by encouraging understanding and acceptance of people of all nations. He believes it is only in embracing our brothers and sisters of ALL cultures, that we ourselves grow into the fully remarkable human beings we were meant to be. Don't wait!
