MANVILLE, NJ — Manville ranked the highest in Somerset County for reported heroin-abuse cases, according to New Jersey's recently released annual list reported by each community, revealing the most recent data of reported cases for 2018. In 2018, Manville reported a total number of 85 heroin-abuse cases or 8.14 cases per 1,000 people. Looking at those numbers in comparison to the other 549 towns reported on the list the borough ranked at 105th highest for the number of cases reported and 88th for cases per 1,000 people. The opitate drug continues to be a pervasive problem in the state's cities and suburban areas.In Somerset County, Manville had the highest number of cases with 85 or 8.14 case per 1,000 people.
