re Reception afforded the fleeing Ukrainians

Description

Have you ever watched the movie "Crash?" It was an intense metaphor for the state of humanity; and the irony that within all of us coexists good and bad. Nearly the entire planet is (rightly) in support of Ukraine. But Ukraine has its history as well. In 1941, when the Nazis invaded Ukraine, they were greeted as "liberators." The Nazis made clear they meant them no harm, but were looking for gypsies, Jews and queers, whom the Ukranian citizens happily pointed out. These where neighbors they had lived next door for centuries in peace with. The Nazis, wanting to avoid the time and cost to ship all the "undesirables" back to Poland (Auschwitz) marched them to ditches and summarily shot them dead, leaving them to rot. To the credit of the Ukrainian, Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Sociologist have sense described their behavior normative, a survival extinct. Historians have well documented what I describe here, and more recently extensive research has been done by Father Patrick Desbois, a French Franciscan. In addition, a documentary released today ("Babi Yar. Context") describes in depth the incident. The Russians are currently slaughtering Ukrainian citizens. But Russia has a history too, doesn't it? If it were not for Russia, Hitler would never have been defeated, and we would have lost WWII, and everything west of the Mississippi would belong to Japan, everything east, Germany. And ah, yes America too. Land of liberty spared by Mother Russia. The misfits who immigrated here from Eastern Europe, tortured and slaughtered the natives, kidnapped, enslaved sovereign citizens of Africa..... "For the heart [of man] is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9
