Description
We adopted a puppy and we aren't the right fit for her. She is great! Soooo pretty and soft and funny. She is just so very active and our two older bulldog breeds are so very "not-active". SHE NEEDS A VERY ACTIVE HUMAN BUDDY. This puppy wants to go everywhere with you; to the store, on hikes, to your job, on jogs/runs, in the car. She naps hard but she is not a couch potato. She does not want to stay home alone. She wants to be by your side. I think she needs to shift to a solo dog household until she has more self control. She is gaining it quickly but she upsets other dogs by completely disregarding the concept of "her food" v "their food". That issue aside, she is confident with other dogs and behaves submissive and playful to engage with more cautious or grumpy dogs. She wants to play with everyone and every dog. Do you see yourself going to the dog park as a near daily activity? That would make her so happy to socialize with other dogs. Do you go on swift walks, runs or hikes daily? Can she come too? If you'd like a gorgeous gal to keep you motivated to move in your daily life, this sweetie is all about it. She also loves water, like the hose, sprinklers, the shower. If you see yourself doing watercraft activities like stand up paddle board or canoing she'd likely be stoked to come along. We even have a doggy water flotation vest we can give you. Our yard is way too small and filled with obstacles for her to run around as fast as she'd like to. Also we were hit by the tornado and it took out our fence and we had the 3 dogs inside the house a lot lately which she did not enjoy. I do not see her doing well as an apartment dog unless there was access to the outside and it was very large space outside. She is currently learning not to eat poo anymore (the vet assures us this is common and they grow out of it) and the dog-treats that dissuade them from this habit are working great! Except in the case of my eldest bulldog, who is very picky about treats and will not eat them. Therefore she is still occasionally eating that eldest dogs droppings. It's gross, yes, but also an issue because the eldest dog is on experimental chemotherapy drug that prevents rapid cell growth. This could hurt her health and we don't have a way to keep the dogs separated or supervised all day. I recently and unexpectedly started working again so I cannot give her the one on one attention and training daily that she needs. My son will also be going back to in-person school in the fall. This means that 1 out of 3 of our current dogs will be super bored and destructive. She is teething right now and needs redirection to knaw on appropriate things. She is a shadow dog, meaning she'll naturally follow you everywhere you go. It's adorable and her curiosity leads her to hilarious situations. Because of the teething, and that she doesn't want to get too far from you so she'll go potty nearby wherever you are, it will be important to have her on a waist leash connected to you for a few days to establish where it is and isnt ok to go potty at her new home. She feels insecure too far from you so you'll need to take her out for supervised potty breaks and reward her with treats in order to set up this good habit. She wants to do all the tricks and lives for treats. She needs active tough toys, lick pads and kibble dispensing puzzle balls. Does this puupy sound like the match for your active life? She is up to date on all vaccinations and she is "fixed" so she wont be making any puppys. We have seen the team at firehouse vet and we can give you her records. She has a microchip and it can be registered by you. She is covered in the cutest freckles and spots and patches on her skin and fur. She doesn't seem to have any undercoat so she wont shed much. She has a silky thin short coat of fur. She also has one blue eye and one hazel-greenish eye. She licks your palm and cuddles to show affection, and will nuzzle your neck if you hug her.
