Description

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Officials said a Friday evening fire displaced seven Annapolis residents and their dog. The flames started around 11:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Prince George Street, drawing crews from the Annapolis Fire Department. First responders found fire in a storage area underneath the steps approaching the home. Some flames spread inside, but firefighters contained them and helped the occupants escape. The team of 40 firefighters controlled the flames in 20 minutes. Crews from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department and the Naval District Washington Fire Department assisted the Annapolis Fire Department's response. Nobody was hurt during the call, but inspectors said the building was unstable and unsafe. The Red Cross will help the residents find housing. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The report does not indicate an estimated dollar loss. Have a story idea? Please contact me at [email protected] with any pitches, tips or questions.
