Description

ARNOLD, MD — Officials said an Arnold home caught fire on Thanksgiving. The blaze displaced two residents, an incident report added. The fire in the 600 block of Bay Green Drive started in a second-floor bedroom around 1 p.m, the report noted. First responders said the flames extended into the attic and through the roof of the two-story, single-family home. A 38-person crew controlled the fire in about 20 minutes. The Annapolis Fire Department and the Naval Support Activity Annapolis Fire Department asissted the Anne Arundel County Fire Department's response. Investigators do not yet know what caused the blaze. The neighbors spotted the fire, but nobody was home when the flames broke out. Firefighters also do not know if the smoke detectors went off. The report did not estimate a dollar loss. The Red Cross is helping the residents find housing. Nobody was hurt in the fire. Have a story idea?
