Novice bassist looking for a band to play for fun and maybe local gigs. I’m 52 and started playing bass seriously at 49 after playing on and off for ten years. I started off playing blues music but gravitated towards 90s grunge music. I really would like to play in a band that has a lot of “shoegazing” style of music. I was in a band in Washington, DC and in NJ (Hoboken) before Covid de-railed my goals. I have my own equipment and a vehicle to travel. For the record, I cannot sing – there is no amount of audio tuning on earth that can help me. Also, my stage presence is similar to Paz Lenchantin, John Entwistle, or Bill Wyman – quiet and focus. I have little music reading skill; no lyric writing or impromptu “jamming” skills”. If you give me the root notes, I’ll find a way into your song. Influences: 90s grunge in general, Jesus and the Mary Chain, The Pixies, Dinosaur Jr., Catherine Wheel, Concrete Blond, The Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, Silversun Pickups, Teenage Fan Club, Social Distortion, The Modern Lovers, Galaxie 500, Pink Floyd.
