We are hiring an Irrigation specialist for a full time position with our well established company of 35+ years in Melbourne, FL. There are 2 positions available. The first is an independent maintenance and repair technician and the other will join the installation crew. The difference? The independent tech will drive our company van to job sites and work independently throughout the day, making repairs and offering consultations when requested. The tech to join the install crew will ride along or drive our large company box truck to the job sites and work as a team with the other crew members to make repairs, install irrigation systems from start to finish, install drainage systems to reduce lawn flooding, landscaping installs and removals, sod installs and removals, etc. Responsibilities for both positions include: -Irrigation installation, repair, and maintenance for residential and commercial properties. -Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose any and all problems within the irrigation system. -Remove all debris from the property resulting from the repairs you make. -Repair, replace, or remove components to the irrigation system that is not functioning properly. -Operating small equipment such as multimeters, wire locators, etc. -Identify and correct, if needed, the adequacy of water coverage. -Professionally and effectively communicate with customers and staff alike in a personable and friendly manner. -Offer to our customers the knowledge needed to accurately run the system on their own, if applicable. -Ensure safety protocol is followed at all times, without fail. - This includes underground utilities. Should an underground utility line be severed or damaged as a result of your work, you are required to report it to the office immediately. -Keeping an inventory of all materials commonly used to make repairs and ensuring the materials are obtained from the supplier and stocked in the work truck to minimize supply runs. -Deliver accurate, detailed, and completed work order tickets to the office once the job is completed. -Accurately clock in and out using provided time cards. -Perform any and all additional duties and responsibilities that may be temporarily or permanently assigned. Install crew technician is responsible for the above as well as: -Removing or installing sod and/or landscape as required by the scope of work. (Landscape refers to plants, shrubs, trees, paver stones and/or border, landscape fabric for weed prevention, etc.) -Installing and/or repairing lawn drainage solutions as required by the scope of work. -Operating equipment such as trenchers, sod cutting machines, etc. -Efficiently and effectively work together as a team with the other members of the install crew without conflicts. Requirements for both positions include: -Extensive knowledge of all components and functions to all kinds of irrigation systems. -Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service and irrigation systems. -Valid driver's license is mandatory for the independent tech position but only preferred for the install crew position. -Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with customers and staff on a daily basis. -Remain reliable, dependable, and punctual. -Follow both written and verbal instructions from all superiors. -Maintain a drug and alcohol free work environment. -Ability to work independently and as a team with integrity for the duration of your employment. -Available to work Monday through Friday. -Ability to operate and drive large vehicles with incidents or accidents. (Any previous accidents and/or extensive traffic violations will disqualify your ability to operate our vehicles) Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm, weather permitting. Saturdays are optional. We service most of Brevard County; from the Sebastian Inlet to 520 in Cocoa. All major US recognized holidays are paid time off.
