Description

A soul-stirring stroll immersed in evening light and song with the choir from All Souls Church Unitarian Join the All Souls Choir for a night to remember in the evening light at the National Arboretum. This private, strolling event (with two shows at 7 and 8:15p) will celebrate the bounties of DC in springtime, honoring the ancestors and the cycle of life of both flora and fauna. NOTE: the path has some inclines and varied terrain. Comfortable walking shoes strongly encouraged! All Souls Choir, one of DC’s first multiracial choirs, celebrates over a half century of musical excellence, singing a repertoire as diverse as our membership. Our singers’ artistic versatility allows us to perform everything from ancient church chant to Fauré to spirituals to South African, jazz, and gospel songs. The choir has recently performed at the Unitarian Universalist General Assembly in New Orleans, on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, at the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture, and for National Public Radio (NPR). Children 12 and under are free and strollers are allowed. Please no dogs for this event. RESERVE YOUR TICKET Please pay what you can to attend this event. Our suggested ticket price is $25 (or $20 if you are a FONA member). This covers the cost of our staff to organize this events. However, if paying $25 would prohibit you from attending this event, please pay what you can. We believe a connection to the land fosters the mental, physical, and spiritual wellness of individuals, communities, and the planet. We want to provide a quality event that facilitates this connection, but we also believe all members of our community should have access to this event. If you are able to pay more than the suggested ticket price, the difference will go towards covering the cost of those in our community who can’t.
