Description

Elisabetta Formenton and Sarah Feng The act of making art allows us to step beyond Yale for a moment, to access the mirror fragments of our past selves and the ideas we construct and distill from our daily lives. It allows us, even more importantly, to see ourselves reflected in the people around us, and to see the reflected shadows – the little footprints and forested breadcrumbs – they leave on the world around them. What stories do we create in the wakes of others? How do we trick ourselves into misunderstanding our own reflections? When we live in a web of mirrors, where does the truth lie? Join us in a classical piano concert intertwined with original contemporary poetry. By using art – a medium which has always allowed us to reflect upon ourselves and others – we want to be able to create a space for everyone to sit, pause, and think about the trick mirrors that constitute our lives. Art material will be available for you to write your own poetry or draw your own art pieces inspired by the concert, joining us in our artistic reflections and taking a pause from this hectic semester.
