The societal recognition of graduates of the Class of 2022 THE OCCASIONHistorically, members of the African-American community established social and civic organizations with the mission of addressing issues effecting African-American youth and families. Because of strong community support, "investing in programs and services that created a strong foundation for youth to thrive long term," their missions were realized.Building upon this legacy, Sister to Sister requests the honor or your participation at the societal presentation of the graduates of the Class of 2022. SHOWCASE HIGHLIGHTSParade of GraduatesTributesMidland City Federation of Women's Clubs Midland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Societal PresentationDinnerDance PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS Photograph and BioThis celebration will be punctuated with a commemorative Souvenir Journal. A high resolution file of thier senior yearbook photograh and biography must be received by, Friday, April 22, to be included in the Souvenir Journal. Escorts GENTLEMENMother/female adultFemale peer (can be another showcase participant)LADIESFather/male adultMale peer (can be another showcase participant)Meetings/RehearsalsParticipants are expected to attend scheduled meetings and rehearsal. Two unexcused absences will result in removal from the showcase. DancingParticipants must be willing to enthusiastically participate in choreographed dance routines. ContemporaryFormal Waltz AttireParticipants will participate in 3 fashion categories:PARADE OF GRADUATES: T-shirt of college/university you will attend in the fall. If you have no current plans of attending college, wear a t-shirt from your high school. CASUAL: Attire that best captures personality and educational journey. FORMAL: Gentlemen Pre-Selected Tuxedo Ladies White/ Ivory Floor Length Ball Gown White/Ivory Satin Opera Length Gloves(see photographs at the end of scree for gown examples) TicketingParticipants will be responsible for the sale of at least 5 ball tickets, with proceeds helping to offset ball expenses. ZERO TOLERANCEWe will uphold a swift zero tolerance policy for any attitude or behavior that serves to disrupt or distract from premise of this celebratory occasion. This includes, but not limited to:Parental/guardian discord Participant discordDisrespect of organizers and guests presentersAs well as attitudes and or behavior displayed in the community unbecoming of a showcase participant. This this includes, but not limited to:Hostile altercations (cyber, physical, verbal, etc.)Disciplinary infractionsArrestsIntoxication/Use of controlled substancesAny participant or associated parent(s)/guardian(s) found in violation of this will result in removal of participant(s) from the showcase.
