Brazoria County Paddle Club Event Dear Paddler, Spring has sprung and we had beautiful weather for our March paddle trip. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can have the same for next month. Our April trip will be on Saturday, April 16th from 9am to noon on Buffalo Camp Bayou. We will meet at 9am at Wilderness Park in Lake Jackson. You can find a link to the park here. We will paddle north (upstream) to the Brazoria Reservoir and back. For those of us who paddle the whole way it is about a 6.5 mile trip. Just like last month, since it is a up and back trip, you don’t have to paddle all the way up. If you’d like to lag behind and take pictures or just relax, you can just turn around when you see the group returning downstream. The Bayou is a nice slow moving river so it is great for all skill levels. It winds its way up through some beautiful houses and ends by paddling past some open prairie. I have seen some beautiful sites on this trip. As always, Brazoria County Parks has kayaks to loan out on a first come basis. Just email us and let us know what you need. If you have not filled out a liability Release form yet in 2022, we will need one before the trip. See you on the water, Brazoria County Parks Department
