Description

We are hosting our annual #KotaDay Conference in April and would love to see you there! The theme this year is Rebuilding After COVID. The day will consist of workshops on various topics and networking sessions. We would like to encourage anyone working or volunteering for a women's organization or other non-profit, women entrepreneurs, students, and future leaders to attend! The event starts at 10am and free lunch will be served at 12:30pm, courtesy of Proskauer LLP. Proof of vaccination required for entry. Workshops and programming schedule to be released. Please take our PRE-EVENT SURVEY to let us know what workshops would be the most helpful for you. The event is free of charge and open to all, but donations are very much appreciated for future programming and in support of our new Kota Nest collaborative workspace! Make a donation here on the Kota Website. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The economic impact of COVID-19 brings to light once again the discrepancies between women and men. Economically, the pandemic has hit women harder, as the sectors of industry most concentrated with female employment suffer the most. Moreover, for women of color the data is even bleaker. Throughout the COVID crisis, The Kota Alliance and other like-minded organizations have not stopped fighting to promote gender equality and shine light on the problems facing women today. Additionally, Kota Nest is the new home of The Kota Alliance! This will be our first center for Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment. As our name implies, we are an Alliance – and our partner organizations will be the first to be welcomed here. In addition to collaborative work space, and space for classes and workshops, we plan fun events for the community of women supporters and our neighbors in Harlem.
