Join us for a Celebration of Earth Day 2022! Learn to talk to trees, get inspired by beautiful art or participate in a workshop... “We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” Native American proverb New Acropolis Chicago is excited and honored to join hands with New Acropolis schools around the world in celebration of Earth Day 2022, in a first collaboration with Richard Stromberg's Chicago Photography Classes and other organizations and the Manz building at 4001 N. Ravenswood ave. This year we invite you to experience and support earth and connect to nature, right at the heart of the city. Participate in a discussion and learn what can Trees teach us, get inspired by artistic performances, get your hands busy with a 'herbs for everyday use' workshop, immerse yourself in the beautiful nature photography exhibition and more... Earth Day 2022: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM -'Work Of Earth' - A Photography Exhibition by Richard Stromberg's Chicago Photography school (FREE) https://chicagophotoclasses.com/product/call-for-entries-work-of-earth/ Juror: Terry Evans. 1:30 PM - What Can a Tree Teach Us? a talk and discussion given by Gilad Sommer, a philosopher, writer, director on New Acropolis Chicago and lover of nature (FREE). 2:15 PM - Intermission, Food and beverages will be available for purchase. 2:35 PM - Artistic Performances by local talents, inspired by nature and the love of Mother Earth (FREE) 3:00 PM - The Secret Wisdom of Plants - In this interactive workshop participants will learn about the properties of local and common herbs and plants, their symbolism in ancient traditional cultures and their everyday uses. Participants will prepare medicinal and healthy ingredients out of herbs to take home with them. This is a Paid Workshop - Registration is required. Earth day is an annual day dedicated to the protection and support of Nature, and to raise awareness of environmental issues worldwide. April 22nd begun as an environmental education day to honor the Earth and Peace and since then has been declared by the United Nations General Assembly as designated Earth Day.
