Monthly breakfast Ken Tharp, CES®, President and owner of Iowa Equity Exchange, has nearly forty-five years of real-world, practical experience in a wide variety of real estate related fields, including new construction, property management, historic renovation, and brokerage. Over those years, Ken has owned and operated his own investment portfolio. In 2007, Ken established Iowa Equity Exchange as a full-service, nationwide exchange accommodator. Since inception, the company has facilitated the exchange of property over a billion dollars, helped clients defer tens of millions of dollars in taxes, and made lots of friends along the way. Ken is a member of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators, an association made up of 1031 professionals that works for the preservation of the exchange option for investors and business owners; the Iowa Commercial Real Estate Association; and other related groups. In 2016, Ken earned the only designation available in the 1031 industry: Certified Exchange Specialist®. Iowa Equity Exchange provides all types of exchange services, including forward, reverse, construction exchanges, and parking exchanges.
