Johnny Steele, host of “Live 105” and cohost of KRON/BayTV’s “The Show,” brings his award winning comedy formula that takes on big, universal subjects and frustrations. He’s joined by Larry Bubbles Brown- stuck with the nickname “Bubbles,” because, well, he isn’t– and The River 105.5’s Roman Guzman. See them live at Almost Famous Wine Lounge, an award-winning, new tasting room and venue located on Vasco Road in the heart of Livermore's wine, spirits and brewery district. Almost Famous Wine makes fifteen wines in diverse styles, and earned 26 top industry awards since our debut last year. Almost Famous Wine Lounge is currently requiring COVID-19 vaccination proof, or proof of a negative Covid-19 test result, taken within 48 hours prior to entry. Wearing a mask is not required, but encouraged for the safety of oneself and others. Outside of reserved seating, seating is first come first served, so please arrive early unless you don’t mind standing. Outside food is welcome, but only AFW wine can be consumed on premise. JOHNNY STEELE: When he began his career as a stand-up comedian in the mid 80s, Steele criss-crossed the country, performing in the top clubs in the industry. But he quickly grew tired of the generic humor in the clubs, and began searching for more meaningful subject matter. So he studied satirists such as Lenny Bruce, and poured through newspapers with a highlighter in hand. Soon, he peppered his act with opinions about things that outraged him—greed, materialism, hypocrisy. The formula was a hit. In 1992, Johnny won the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. In recent years, Johnny has been the host of "Live 105", his own morning radio show, and co-host of KRON/BayTV's "The Show,", a daily TV talk show in San Francisco. LARRY BUBBLES BROWN: Larry Bubbles Brown is a San Francisco based comic who flourished during the 80's comedy boom that produced great comics like Robin Williams and Dana Carvey. He got stuck with the nickname “Bubbles” because, well, he isn't. Having grown up in Ohio, he moved to California in his early 20's, seeking high rents and traffic. He has appeared on more than 25 tv shows and in the film "The Kiterunner," and holds the record for longest time between appearances by a comic on the David Letterman Show; he will be making another appearance this year. He appears in clubs mainly in California and Las Vegas because flying terrifies him even though he was a certified glider pilot before stand up. ROMAN GUZMAN: Radio DJ, Comedian, Actor Roman Guzman has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. In the Modesto/Stockton area he can be heard every morning on The River 105.5 and can also be seen in the recent phycological thriller Agent 11. Roman has also been active in the stand-up comedy field and has been producing a successful series of shows in Modesto since 2018.
