The first installment of the Paul Cuffe Discussion Series, in a quartet of grant-funded paneled discussions on the South Coast. Join Spinner Publications and Gallery X in a panel and community discussion of Paul Cuffe and Frederick Douglass, in what we're calling "A Reckoning of Activism," as we examine the legacy of these two great figures of color who both had such close connections to New Bedford, in both similar, as well as diverging ways. Author of our forthcoming biography on Paul Cuffe, Lamont D. Thomas, will be headlining the panel, along with New Bedford Historical Society President and Cuffe descendent, Lee Blake, and Carl Cruz, local historian and Cuffe descendent. We will be live streaming on our Facebook page and will post a video of the event on YouTube as well.
