Florida is a history maker! Dr. Bethune represents all of us! Join us to celebrate her installation in Statuary Hall in Washington, DC. As the single largest donor of the statuary project, the Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune National Alumni Association (MMBNAA) is an independent 501c3 dedicated to student scholarships and does not represent a college or raise funds for a college. Celebrate Florida's history and the history of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. Dr. Bethune’s installation in Statuary Hall in Washington D.C. is an honorable salute for all of Florida regardless of gender, race or political affiliation. Mark your calendars to join us along with Congresswoman Kathy Castor, United States Representative of the 14th District of Florida, Saturday, May 28th from 11am – 1pm at the Sheraton Tampa Grand Ball Room, 10221 Princess Palm Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610, for our Legacy Luncheon. Dr. Bethune was born in 1875.Dr. Bethune started the Daytona Literary and Industrial Training Institute for Negro Girls in 1904.Dr. Bethune was an advisor to Presidents of the United States of America without the right to vote.Dr. Bethune was the only African American woman at the inaugural meeting of the United Nations.
