Ludington’s own Fremont John is known for his distinctive acoustic guitar style with the resonate growl of a baritone. Add to it his penchant for taking the classic songs we all know and creating them in his own style and you have a captivating show of musical ability. Developing his musical talents since age 5, he’s played the music of the classical greats to the rock & roll hall-of-famers and now pen’s his own music with the richness of his life experiences weaving a variety of styles into his own. Fremont John’s solo live performance is a relaxed and comfortable way to kick back and enjoy the music. Whether it’s a remake of a classic or an original selection, the guitar work is sure to please and the stories surrounding the songs are delightfully entertaining. Sometimes traditional, sometimes contemporary, always imbued with a raw honesty- Independent Music Award winning songwriter Jen Sygit has released four albums, her latest “It’s About Time” was produced by longtime friend and collaborator Dominic John Davis (bassist to Jack White, Buddy Miller, Steppin In It) and features guest performances from Luther Dickinson, Colin Linden, The McCrary Sisters and Rachael Davis. In addition to her solo career Jen is a founding member of the all-female string band “Stella!”, she hosted the “Eclecticana” radio show on 89.7fm WLNZ for a decade and is also a veteran session vocalist appearing on over 50 albums nationwide. Ralston Bowles’s father played the fiddle, guitar and banjo in the Appalachia hills before he moved to Gary, Indiana, to work the steel mills. Ralston's first professional job was at the age of 16 when he was asked to make up one of his story songs for a neighborhood party. After graduation he found himself playing in clubs and coffeehouses throughout the Midwest, making up songs about the people and places he visited. His songs have been performed and recorded by Caroline Aiken, Peter Mulvey and Rachael Davis. He has received awards from American Songwriter Magazine, NSAI/CMT, Unisong and the International Song Competition, among many others. As a Kerrville New Folk finalist, he even found himself opening for such artists as Shawn Colvin, T-Bone Burnett and Arlo Guthrie. His first recording, "Carwreck Conversations," was produced with Marvin Etzoni and earned him triple Jammy Awards locally and recognition as best musician in West Michigan by Grand Rapids magazine. It also led him to his first commercial release through Judy Collins’ Wildflower Records. He has become a bi-annual favorite at Boston's Club Passim. Michigan-born Navy veteran Drew Nelson is a storytelling songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A fly fisherman and world traveler, he writes as a witness to the lives and journeys of those he has met along the way, mixing Americana and roots-rock with traditional folk styles.
