Sanitation Truck Operator II Under the general supervision of the Sanitation foreman, this position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of all commercial and residential sanitation collection vehicles. This includes, but is not limited to, side and rear load garbage packers, trash trucks with an attached grapple boom, skid steer loaders, and tractors with or without attachments. Incumbents of the classification generally operate all sanitation equipment as needed to accomplish work order objectives in the Town’s rights-of-way, building grounds, parks, and related public maintenance functions. Maintains the Town’s swales, alleys, building grounds and parks as needed. Repairs and replaces commercial dumpsters. Operates various trucks and equipment in the loading, hauling, and transfer of garbage and other various materials and supplies. Resolves customer work orders and complaints. Assumes responsibility of Sanitation in the absence of the Foreman. Photographs and reports hazardous conditions. Completes routine inspections, cleaning, fueling, and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment. Assists grounds crew as required. High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience and a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License are required. Pay range: $18.21 to $28.22 per hour.
