The AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator is the face of Reading Partners within the Baltimore community, recruiting and onboarding volunteer tutors and forging community partnerships in order to serve students. What you’ll do & how you’ll do it: - Lead efforts to recruit, onboard, and train volunteer tutors to deliver Reading Partners’ tutoring program. - Manage volunteer data and track new and returning volunteers through the process of becoming active tutors. - Communicate and support volunteers to ensure a timely and positive tutor onboarding experience. - Manage a portfolio of community partners to bolster tutor recruitment efforts. - Research and cultivate new partners and maximize existing partnerships - Provide marketing and brand awareness support. You’ll be successful in this role if you: - Possess a high school diploma or GED - Hold US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status - Understand this position is an AmeriCorps service commitment - Demonstrate comfort with public speaking, pay strong attention to detail, and manage competing - priorities effectively - Can quickly learn new technology systems like Salesforce and are comfortable with Google Apps and Zoom Conferencing AmeriCorps members serving in school and community-based roles are required to mask when in-person and are strongly encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccine unless a reasonable accommodation is requested and approved.
