Press release from the City of Ames: March 28, 2022 The City of Ames will host two public forums to educate the public on the status and the future of the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs and to gather public feedback for its 2022-23 Annual Action Plan projects. The funding of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Programs for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022, has not been announced. The City of Ames is currently projecting its 2021-22 allocation of $599,177 in CDBG and $350,543 in HOME funds for Fiscal Year 2022-23. These funds can be used to implement a wide variety of community and economic development activities directed towards neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and the provision of improved community facilities and services. The funded activities must meet the following three national objectives: 1) benefit persons of low and moderate income, 2) aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight, and 3) meet other community development needs of particular urgency.
