Here are the top three stories in Charleston today: A North Charleston-based Opportunity Center has opened to empower underserved entrepreneurs. Four organizations are pooling their resources and working together under the same roof for a one-stop-shop of economic services that can lead to generational wealth for underserved entrepreneurs. The nonprofit organizations participating in this endeavor are the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development, the Center for Heirs' Property Preservation, Increasing H.O.P.E, and Homes of Hope Inc. (Charleston Post Courier)Karen Hollings officially entered the race to become Charleston County Register of Deeds. She will be challenging Michael Miller, the current incumbent, for the Democratic nomination for Register of Deeds. Hollings said she is "looking forward to meeting with voters and sharing her plans to modernize the Register of Deeds office." The election will take place on Jun. 14.
