Every student, faculty member, and staffer at Thomas College celebrates the holiday season each year by sitting down to a Thanksgiving feast. Thomas College Dining by Sodexo prepares all the classic home-style favorites and Resident Assistants volunteer to serve the meal, carrying giant platters of family style turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. Service awards are presented to recognize years of dedication by Thomas College faculty and staff. Aside from building a spirit of community on campus, the primary goal of the event is to support the community surrounding Thomas College. Each year, campus departments, clubs, and dorms donate large baskets of goods for local Waterville families in need. This year fifty-six bundles were donated -laundry hampers filled with non-perishables, blankets, toys, and gift cards to help make the Thanksgiving season easier for local families. Thomas College President Laurie G. Lachance spoke about how Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday and how, in order to be successful, one must live with a spirit of gratitude.
