OAK FOREST, IL — A bus shelter was completely destroyed Sunday after a car crashed into the bus stop at 159th Street and Central Avenue, Oak Forest police told Patch. According to police, a vehicle was cut off by another car that changed lanes, causing it to swerve and hit the bus shelter. Oak Forest Police Chief Jason Reid said there were no injuries from the crash but the driver of the car that hit the shelter was cited for driving on a suspended license. The shelter, which includes a covered bench and advertisements, was completely destroyed as a result. As of Thursday, city officials had not responded to Patch's questions on how much money it will cost the city to repair.
