McKEESPORT, PA — Six South Allegheny Middle School students were treated at a hospital Thursday after ingesting what district officials described as "drug-laced edibles."
District officials said they began experiencing severe sickness at around 8:30 a.m. Police and emergency medical technician teams were summoned to the school.
While they were there, the middle and high school classes were in a "shelter in place" operation to keep hallways clear for emergency personnel.
The district said in a statement that all affected students' families have been contacted, and all middle school students' boo bags and belongings have been rechecked for drug paraphernalia.
