Description

LISLE, IL — Lisle residents will be able to keep chickens in their backyards as of April 1. On March 21, the village council approved an ordinance allowing residents to have up to four hens in their backyards. Roosters are not permitted. The hens must be kept in an enclosure that aligns with the village's specifications. The chicken enclosure must be in the resident's backyard and kept at least 10 feet from any property lines. The ordinance requires that the property be kept sanitary and clean. Additionally, any chicken feed must be stored in containers that are rodent-proof.
