[I will not respond to anyone who doesn't provide a phone number.] This is the deal. You come on board. 8 to 12 weeks are ready to play. I will pay you for every rehearsal. We want to test drive a set once and a while at a jam. You get paid for those too. Studio and video sessions, you get paid. We practice in an airconditioned space in Pinellas County with a professional gear, a Hartke stack awaits you. You don't even have to lug a bass around, you can use my cheap Aria. And the icing on the cake will be when you hear who you are being paid to back!! Here are the musical requirements. You at minimum need one bass good working order for live performance. I don't care if you have a Squire Along with Fender, Gibson, Jackson, and Dean, I have several of Squires. I don't care if you play through the PA. You can play a 5 or 6 string if it floats you boat with plastic string or round wounds. But when it is time for classic grooves, I want a 4 string with round wounds. If you have a 5, I will purchase a MIM Fender Jazz 4 string. With roundwounds. You must have good and diverse ability on the instrument. You might be asked to play dance music, blues-rock, funk, etc. I am not looking for Victor Wooton or Flea, but you have to thump a little. You must be able to play a walking bass line. You have to be able to play Bernard Edward's bass lines. Yes there will be some Chic. There will also be some Hendrix. Zep. Cream. Maybe some Parliament. Latin grooves from Santana and Los Lonely Boys. I like to do fusion (Jeff Beck) and instrumental rock (Joe Satriani), and I can show you how to play those bass lines if need be. But that is not what is needed right now. And no one expects you to have all this down in 8 weeks. If you also play keys, you get to go to the front of the line and ask for better pay. If you also sing lead, you are golden. But if you simply a highly competent side man, that is platinum for me. I mention at the top about the icing on the cake. I promised them the best band I could put together and the current bass player is problematic. He is just not on the page with the rest of the members. And frankly, I am tired of all the noise from musicians these day. So I will make it easy. I will pay you to show up and do a job. And maybe you will fit in naturally. For the record, the rest of the band is laid back, drama free, focused. That is a requirement of the job. We want to be a very fun party band, but we want to sound good to.
