DEERFIELD, IL — One person is dead following a multi-car accident Thursday afternoon on Interstate 94 near Deerfield Road. Illinois State Police told Patch the accident occurred at around 2:06 p.m. and two lanes of traffic remained closed for nearly four hours. The accident, involving three cars in the westbound lane of Interstate 94, occurred just past Deerfield Road. One person was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they were later pronounced dead. Lanes 1 and 2 were closed for an investigation.
