Description
Press release from LA County Library: March 30, 2022 This April, celebrate the expressiveness, delight, and charm of poetry. Explore rhymes, free verses, haikus, sonnets, and everything in between. National Poetry Month was introduced in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets and is a reminder that poetry matters. It helps us appreciate the world around us and empathize with one another. We are celebrating all month long with programming for all ages—including Blackout Poetry and an interview with Steven Reigns, West Hollywood's first Poet Laureate—recommended book titles, and videos on our YouTube channel highlighting a different poet each week. Registration opens one week prior to the program date.
