Hi, I'm Starmee🎀 (needs to be only dog). I am set to be euthanized April 5th, 8am. Why am I E-listed? I’m STRUGGLING mentally due to long periods of being kenneled! I am jumping off the kennel walls and unable to settle down. It’s just not humane to keep me here. Who can save my life? I don’t want to die!! I’m a 1-year-old, spayed, black and white American Pit Bull Terrier Mix (49lbs.) I’m so young and have been at the shelter twice, once as a stray and this time my owner surrendered me after one day because I did not get along with his dogs. He said that I liked people. My notes say I am easily taken out and returned to my kennel, that I have been friendly with multiple people, leaning in for pets and jumping up on a lap for attention. I’m smart too. I know “sit”, “down” and “shake” and know how to take treats gently. I walk “stop and go” on-leash because I like sniffing. When I am in proximity to other dogs, I get overly excited and will pull and bark. I haven’t had a dog-to-dog evaluation, but the shelter is requiring me to be an only dog at this time due to my high level of over-excitement and focus on dogs in the shelter setting. It is recommended that I meet the entire family before going home, that my adopter or foster be experienced, and that I have in-home training. I will need time to de-stress (go on walks and have time to unwind). I have done nothing wrong and deserve to live! I can't imagine this is how it could end for me…will you save my life?
