Need Cakewalk software help

So... in the early 90s I used the original Cakewalk software. (I still have the install floppies!) I also made some backups which included.wrk files for a number of songs. For years I had no reason to try to resurrect the rigs and software. But now I'd like to be able to fire up and work on those song files again. So I was happy to find that there is a new version of Cakewalk available. Downloaded and installed it but found that I cannot map the two synths I originally used to the projects. Older synths, but not real oddballs (M-1 and Proteus). The help group there offers nothing. Some old postings suggested hex editing or something beyond my modest skill set. So~~~ Is there anyone around Portland who could help me do the mapping and get the rig up and running? Paying gig. Thanks.
