The Phoenix Staffing is looking for candidates who want to excel in a service trade role of Apartment Make Ready Technician. The apartment industry is in extreme dire need of new maintenance technicians serving future residents and current residents in maintaining the community and apartment homes. The Phoenix Staffing has developed an accelerated Apartment Make Ready program preparing you for Heating and Air Conditioning maintenance & repair, Drywall patch and texture, small appliance repair, light electrical, plumbing and total apartment preparation for new rental. The Phoenix Staffing is offering the education program for free for qualified candidates. Students will learn the foundational concepts of how to quickly turn an apartment into a rentable unit during this 2 day course study. Then you will begin working on actual client apartments and be paid for the hours you work turning apartment gaining valuable hands on experience. To become a student of The Phoenix Staffing Make Ready course, all candidates must be prepared to complete 24 hours in classroom instruction, as well as on the job training through a 200 hour paid apprenticeship through The Phoenix Staffing. Students are trained and prepared in 123 hours (24 classroom hours and 99 paid internship) with a hybrid learning platform consisting of both classroom and hands on education. Students must be able to pass a criminal background screening, and have access to reliable transportation. PAID INTERNSHIP AND NO TUITION COST Get paid while learning the job…gain exposure to hiring management companies and communities and full-time employment….AND have ALL your tuition paid through the paid apprenticeship!!! We pay you an internship wage AND pay for your tuition*!!! *Must meet our qualifying criteria and be selected to participate. Eligible and qualified students will begin a 99 hour paid internship working at apartment communities utilizing their newly acquired skills. The Phoenix Staffing is working with premier client management companies like Greystar Management, HG Fenton, RA Snyder, R & V Management, Sunrise Management, Trilar, Capital Growth, Cambridge, Pacific Western Corp, and American Assets to place students in these paid internships. Students will have the opportunities and expectations of full-time employment upon completion of the 99 hours of continuous work with the hiring management company*. After completing the minimum 99 hours of the paid internship, The Phoenix Staffing will have fully paid for your Make Ready Technician Tuition. Once completed, students are eligible for full time employment by the management company with a higher wage, eligible for company benefits and visible & attainable career path. The Phoenix Staffing is currently recruiting and screening candidates for the next Apartment Make-Ready Technician class starting April 19th-21st, 2022. MUST START IMMEDIATELY AS A PORTER. Essential Job Functions As a Make Ready Technician your primary responsibility is to ensure that all vacant apartment units are restored timely to market-ready status. This position will also perform general repairs and assist in the overall maintenance of the interior and exterior of the property. Make Ready Duties: - Works with the office team and Maintenance Supervisor (i.e., walking apartments, move-in/move-out reports, etc.). - Completes work as directed and reports apartments that are ready to show to the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager. - Walks all vacant units to determine make-ready needs. - Coordinates efforts with Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to make schedules and assignments. If major appliances or carpets need replacing, discusses with Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager before taking action. - Ensures all repairs/replacements are completed as necessary for apartment to be occupied. - Ensures all trash from apartments are cleaned out before, during and after make-ready activity. Job Qualifications: - High School or GED (General Education Diploma) preferred - Regular attendance, punctuality and dependability required - General maintenance and safety experience strongly preferred - Required to provide own (industry specific) hand tools - A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required based upon specific property needs - Basic computer skills/knowledge required to perform job functions - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work functions - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Knowledge of building maintenance and repair - A positive, team-oriented attitude - Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers - Pass extensive background screening - Pass Drug screening to ensure hire-ability with our clients - Be available to start and work the internship required hours - Principals only.
