Selections of her cantata Simon Bore the Cross, which was premiered by the Concert Choir of Georgetown University at the Kennedy Center in 2018, will be set against other monumental and unfortunately relatively unknown works also born of her unceasing work in the civil rights movement: Montgomery Variations for orchestra, and her multimovement setting of W.E.B. DuBois’ text Credo for orchestra and chorus. Please Note: In accordance with University policy, Georgetown students, faculty, and staff must show Georgetown ID (digital or physical) at the door, and visitors must follow instructions to upload vaccine & booster, exemption, or negative test documentation as well as presenting a form of ID. Details will be sent after registration is complete and before the performance. Masks are required in all Georgetown University buildings. High-quality masks (N95, KN95, KF94) are highly encouraged. All patrons should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. If the show is sold out, any unclaimed passes will be released to other patrons on the Stand-By list beginning at 10 min prior.
