‘STEAM’ING AHEAD Fundraiser for the La Grange Railroad Museum & Learning Center 'STEAM'ING AHEAD is a community fundraiser for the La Grange Railroad Museum & Learning Center hosted by Polished Image, LLC and Hive & Barrel Meadery at The Gallery at Gatewood Venue on April 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00PM. It is an exciting time in the history of the La Grange Railroad Museum & Learning Center and we invite you to rediscover and re-engage with the museum, its new leadership team, active volunteers and its mission of "Bringing Railroad History To Life". The event will feature exhibits from the museum throughout the space, alongside presentations of the museum's new initiatives in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) educational programming for youth and adults, the construction of the new La Grange STEAM Park designed by Pool & Patio in La Grange, the proposed retrofitting of the dining train with ADA compliant chairlift for accessibility for all visitors, the 1963 L&N Caboose rehab project and much more. The incredibly talented Chef Sandra Gugliotta will be providing delicious Hors d'oeuvres paired with Hive & Barrel's Mead and Bourbon inspired cocktails, local craft cider, beer and wine. A cash bar will also be available. The caboose of the culinary delights will be a homemade cookie station baked by volunteers and their children in support of the museum. A silent auction will be conducted during the fundraiser and we are grateful to all the businesses who have graciously donated to this auction in support of the museum! The proceeds raised during this event will go toward the completion of the new La Grange STEAM Park, retrofitting access to the trains with an ADA compliant chairlift and the new STEAM educational programming. Each ticket purchased will come with new Membership to the La Grange Railroad Museum & Learning Center.
