Description

My wife and I recently opened up a small group home for the aged in Hendersonville, TN, which is an alternative to assisted living or nursing homes. We are both RNs with over 15 years combined ICU experience and while we do not provide medical care in our home, we have trained eyes to notice anything that may be a change in the normal. This is a family owned and operated home, and we really mean that. We have three kids that come and visit as often as we can bring them. Our son is the designated lawn mower-er. ;) Our daughters paint nails and talk with our residents. We also bring our puppy when we are able. Our residents love him! Our caregiver-to-resident ratio is the best in the industry, 1-2 caregivers for 3 residents. I am blessed to have my parents live there as well and they are able to provide a cozy home environment for our residents. Our spring and summer garden provides a good variation of fresh vegetables and fruits like: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs, berries, etc. Live chickens with fresh eggs is also in planning:). My mom is an excellent cook; all our food is prepped fresh and customized to the residents needs and abilities. Our residents eat home cooked meals, including European desserts! Cleanliness is our lifestyle. Our home is always clean and smells good and our residents are very well taken care of. Our house does not have that big box "nursing home" smell. We may not have all the bells and whistles provided in large, institutionalized places. Instead, we are proud to provide a small, family environment and personalized care to each resident. We believe that the elderly need to feel like they belong in a family, not a number in a hotel-like place. We are not large and don't want to be. Our max capacity is 3 residents at this location (city rules). We specialize in providing assistance to those residents that need help more than just assistance with ADLs. Someone who might have total care needs, maybe is bed bound, and becomes too much for the family to take care of, or no longer qualifies in an assisted living environment. For those that are able to enjoy the outside, we do provide means to take them outside with wheelchairs and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, as weather permits. The home is sweet and cozy and recently remodeled to be handicap accessible. The bathing times are more than just a sponge bath, we consider them as spa days. Also, each room has a TV and cable/internet and comes with a twin bed. For medical care, we partner with a group that does monthly in home visits. They are on call for us 24/7 should the need arise. We also work with a service that comes to assess the resident in the home, rather than having the resident leave the home for ER visits if the need be. Home health, PT, OT, hospice services are all welcome to come and provide care for our residents that need that service. For pharmacy services, we partner with a company that delivers all medications packed and sealed to us so that families do not have to worry about staying on top of medication delivery. Our service rate covers all ADLs, food + snacks, hygiene, and all incontinence supplies. There are no hidden fees. We do not take insurance, but we have had 100% success with long term care insurances reimbursing our families for our services. For further questions or to know more about us, please email us or give me a call. Starting April 1, we will have some availability. Please make sure to asks us about any promotion going on now!
