The art of “Throwing the Bones” is a form of divination practiced throughout human history, from the use of sheep ankle bones of Mongolia to the divining healers of South Africa to the use of chicken or opossum bones of the southern United States. Throwing the bones is an ancient form of divination that can be found in numerous cultures throughout the world. There are many different approaches, techniques, and even pieces used in bone divination. Bones have been consulted to answer life’s questions and gain insight to help address or influence a situation through spiritual means. The way the bones land, the patterns displayed, and how they interact with other pieces speak to the bone reader. With you question in mind, Papa Newt will explore what lays before you and offer spiritual advice to help you move forward. Papa Newt will be holding 3 "Gallery" style events while she is in Des Moines. Galleries will be held on Thursday, April 7th, Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th. All three shows will start at 6:30pm and end approximately at 8:30pm. If you are unfamiliar, a "Gallery" reading is an event for a group of people who are all together in one room. In this setting not every attendee is guaranteed a reading, but Papa Newt will complete as many readings as possible. These one-of-a-kind events will be held at Gilroy's, 1238 8th Street in West Des Moines, Iowa. Gilroy's is proud to offer attendees of these shows special pricing on food and drinks! Doors to the party room open at 5:00pm, so you may arrive early and order food and drink if you choose. Drinks and Desserts can be ordered at any time during the evening’s event, however if you wish to order appetizers or dinner, then you must place your order by 6:15pm in order to keep distractions to the show at a minimum. All attendees must arrive and check in no later than 6:15pm. These events have sold out quickly in the past, so purchase your tickets now to avoid missing out on an unforgettable evening! We will be accepting reservations for parties of all sizes. If you have a group of people that wish to sit together at the show, you must purchase your tickets under one person’s name. The venue will pre-set the room and no changes to seating will be made the night of the show. Because of the layout of the room, you may need to share a table with another party.
