TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at the Salem Five bank Wednesday afternoon, said Chief Ryan Columbus in a news release.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at Salem Five, located at 2171 Main Street, at approximately 3:15 p.m.
A preliminary investigation determined that the suspect entered the bank, approached two tellers, and demanded cash while claiming to have a firearm. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 40-years-old, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, black gloves, a Patriots hat, and a surgical mask.
Several officers and K-9 units searched the area around the bank with negative results.
Police are investigating whether there are any connections between this robbery and a previous robbery at the same bank that occurred on March 7.
