May, Bolan, Paz Still Leading In Mahwah Council Race

MAHWAH, NJ — David May, Kimberly Bolan and Michelle Paz have jumped out to a lead in the Mahwah Council race, unofficial Bergen County results show. Bergen County last updated vote totals on Nov. 9 around 1:30 p.m., but some ballots are expected before Nov. 20, when the county will need to certify the votes. Here's the vote total, as it stands Thursday: David May — 7,228Constance Byrne — 5,328Kimberly N. Bolan — 7,243Michelle Paz — 6,456 Bergen County reports a total of 453,020 ballots cast, with provisional ballots still coming in. The county has yet to make an estimate on overall voter turnout, given the remaining ballots, but thus far over 67 percent of registered voters cast ballots, they said. County Clerk John S. Hogan didn't provide much of an update on Twitter last week, stating that results would continue to be posted online. However, the unofficial results page has been updated to include a new, "live" feed. Phil Murphy because of the coronavirus, there have been many questions about how the process will work. Every the ballot sent through the mail had to be postmarked by Nov. 3. It must be received by your county's election boards by 8 p.m. on Nov. 10. "Every vote should be safe. Every vote should be secure. Every vote should be counted," Murphy said of the process.
