WYANDANCH, NY — Two clerks at two separate Wyandanch convenience stores were arrested and charged Wednesday night, after a police inspection found they had sold e-cigarettes to minors, Suffolk County Police said. Umair Azam, 33, of Flushing, a clerk at Rollies Smoke Shop, located at 1525 Straight Path, was charged with one count of sale of e-cigarettes to a person under 21 years old and one count of unlawfully dealing with a child, police said. The business was issued seven citations from the Town of Babylon's fire marshal, one citation from the Town of Babylon's plumbing inspector, and five other Town of Babylon code violation citations, police said. All Convenience store, located at 1308 Straight Path in Wyandanch, was issued multiple citations and closed on Wednesday night. (Google Maps) Yousef Fadhel, 34, of Lindenhurst, a clerk at All Convenience store, located at 1308 Straight Path, was charged with one count of sale of e-cigarettes to a person under 21 years old, police said. The business was issued two citations from Babylon Town's fire marshal, one citation from the Town of Babylon's plumbing inspector, and five other Town of Babylon code violation citations, police said. Suffolk County Police, in conjunction with community support unit officers and Town of Babylon officials, conducted the code compliance inspections at both businesses at about 8 p.m. Both businesses were placarded and closed by the Town of Babylon, police said. Azam and Fadhel were issued field appearance tickets and will be arraigned at a later date, police said.
