Press release from the Stratford Library: March 31, 2022 An exhibit of original photographs by artist Tom Rudne is the current art exhibit at the Stratford Library. The exhibit, entitled "Old Trucks", includes both color and black and white photography. It is free and open to the public. Life-long Connecticut resident, Tom Rudne is a picture-taker who enjoys making photos out of sights and sites as he sees them. "Always have a camera with you and a willing friend/model", he says. One subject that has captured his attention is the old truck. "You see them on the side of roads, in yards, on farms", he adds. "Some may just look like junk or garbage but children of future generations may never see the original rust buckets. There's the art of re-building old trucks, those are attention-getters at car shows or when driven around town. Many of those trucks are and will be built with longer lasting materials that won't provide the sights we see now." Rudne dedicates his exhibit to Bob Rudne, father and proud owner of a 1936 Ford. Rudne is a member of the Easton Art Council and Acam/Gallery 53 in Meriden. Viewing hours for "Old Trucks" are: Monday-Thursday: 10-8, Friday-Saturday: 10-5 and Sunday: 1-5 pm. The display is located in the Main Lobby of the Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford and will continue through May 31, 2022.
