ROCKVILLE, MD — Time ran out for the winners of a $10 million Powerball ticket this week, as the deadline to claim it passed.
The ticket was purchased on Sept. 27, 2021 at an Exxon on Rockville Pike. The buyer chose the Double Play add-on.
A representative from the Maryland lottery told WTOP that this is the largest prize in state history that has gone unclaimed. The money from the prize will go into the unclaimed prize fund that is used for other lotto prizes.
The Exxon received $10,000 for selling the winning ticket, the Maryland Lottery said at the time of the drawing.
