GLEN BURNIE, MD — Authorities announced Thursday that they arrested the man accused of spray painting swastikas recently in Glen Burnie.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the arrestee as Brandon Ryan Dozier. Court records show that the Glen Burnie man faces:
Two counts of malicious destruction of property valued at less than $1,000Two counts of race or religious crimeTwo counts of using a hate item or symbol All six charges are misdemeanors.
Police first heard about the vandalism in the Elvaton Towne community around 6:30 a.m. Monday. Officers said they found two swastikas on the street and one on a building owned by the homeowners' association.
Nazi Germany used swastikas during the Holocaust, so they are considered a symbol of hate.
Police and county crews were on the scene removing the swastikas around noon on Monday.
