Minnesota THE CHARLESTON POUR HOUSE UNDER 21 WITH PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN Minnesota cozm & naught EDM, Bass Minnesotaw/ Cozm & NaughtThursday, May 5th, 2022 Main Stage / General Admission 9pm Doors / 10pm Show Tickets - $18 Advance/$20 Day of Show MinnesotaThe man named after the land with 10,000 lakes has been a force on the bass scene for nearly a decade. Although he’s made a name for himself in the electronic music space, Minnesota’s (aka Christian Bauhofer) musical journey started with heavy doses of classic rock, emo and screamo. He was heavily influenced by the psychedelic style of rock legends including Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and cites them as inspiration for what would become his own sound. “The songs were journeys and I really like the epicness and the trip the song took you on,” he says. Spending most of his early life in Minnesota, It was not until Christian relocated to Santa Cruz, California in 2007 where he first discovered the underground electronic music scene via renegade parties that would be thrown in the redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains. “That community / subculture was really my main influence into the music. A lot of other artists were immersed in the Santa Cruz community like G Jones, The Glitch Mob and Eprom. Crews would bring out a generator, Dj equipment and a few lights and play music until 10AM. We were really blown away.” Christian would soon throw his own renegade parties in Santa Cruz to provide himself with a forum to DJ. “I wanted to play music, but could never get booked, so I teamed up with some friends and we started to throw are own parties. I feel very lucky to have experienced this underground scene before electronic music and hit the mainstream.” Cozm & NaughtCozm & Naught is the psychedelic duo conjured from deep within the brain folds of Atlantians Jesse Cegielski and Dariush Mirsajedin. These life-long explorers of their craft are bringing their talent to an untapped facet of electronic music. With backgrounds and influences from a diverse landscape of music genres and artists spanning from electro and death metal all the way to hip-hop and jazz, Cozm & Naught gives light to a groovier, heavier, and thought-provoking side of electronic music. The sometimes alien sounding textures and patterns of Jesse’s guitar style fills the space between Dariush’s blasting rhythms. Both create an other-worldly experience for anyone that stumbles into Cozm & Naught’s psychedelic chasm of sound. The band’s unusual angle of approach to electronic music lends itself to their versatility and has landed them gigs such as direct support for The Crystal Method at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse, the rooftop after party for Primus’ Georgia Theatre show in September of 2018, and direct support for EOTO at Terminal West in early 2020. Their sound dives deep into classic psychedelia while also holding the precision and execution of modern electronic music. Cozm & Naught’s live show moves through dynamic lulls and ultimate crescendos creating a vividly dramatic encounter curated just for the audience. Heavy sub-bass with layers of droning synth walls and supernatural melodic phrases permeate their songs and serve to create tension then deliver releases that keep listeners fixated. * Show is 21+. Attendees under 21 must be accompanied by a parent & will be subject to a $5 surcharge. The surcharge must be paid in cash at the door on the day of the event. Minnesota cozm & naught
