Celebrate our Annual SOTV Earth Day Celebration in Kansas City! Bring your blankets and picnic baskets for Fun in the Sun! Kids will have teach-ins with fun Earth Day activities. Teach-ins start at 10:00 a.m., so come early & grab a seat! Local organizations will have info tables to get you up to speed on all things that help the Earth. Play frisbee tag, throw a football, fly a kite, bring a peace sign, chill out with your Kansas City neighbors and celebrate Springtime on the Earth! JOIN THE MOVEMENT! CELEBRATE EARTH DAY! Earth Day Activities include Teach-ins, Reading Circles, fun hands-on activities, origami, circular economy class, water quality testing, composting, pollinators, weather demos, birding, and kite flying contest! SOTV will bring a Mobile Library to share with you. Reading Circles are basically a blanket on the grass where you read an excerpt from a book and discuss. Our book collection has lesson plans with easy, user-friendly activities. Borrow a book and read to each other! COME ON OUT TO THE PARK AND PLAY WITH US! SOTV does not guarantee the safety of participants and event organizers for this event with respect to the dangers of potential transmission of COVID-19. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks but this is not a requirement for attendance. The wearing of cloth facial coverings is strongly recommended at all times for those at high-risk from others.
