Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of FLORIAN VUKA (DOB: 9/22/79; single; concrete worker) of 2067 Newburgh Drive, Troy, Michigan on drug and money laundering offenses. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On March 29, 2022, an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force revealed that FLORIAN VUKA was transporting bulk shipments of marijuana through Bergen County and the proceeds of those bulk marijuana sales back to Michigan. During this investigation, a search was conducted on VUKA's vehicle in South Hackensack, New Jersey. That search revealed approximately seven packages of marijuana with a total weight of seven pounds, as well as $57,715.00 in U.S. currency. VUKA was arrested at the scene of the search without incident.
FLORIAN VUKA was charged with one count of second-degree possession of marijuana over 5 lbs. but less than 25 lbs. with the intent to distribute, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)(b); and third-degree money laundering, N.J.S.A. 2C:21-25a. VUKA was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
