Please join us for painting and decorating birdhouses in time for Spring! We'll learn a variety of fun techniques using several materials! We use various painting techniques using acrylic and "chalk acrylic" paints to create the looks of distressed wood, including the use of crackle glaze. Chalk acrylic paints have a pretty matte finish that is perfect for wood and furniture. We will also use laser cut wood embellishments, stencils, chalk acrylic paste (for use with stencils to create a raised design) and simple mandala dot painting techniques. All supplies included, including one 5.5" x 4.6" x 8.9" birdhouse (the size of the hole may make this a more decorative birdhouse than functional, with the exception of very small birds such as finches). If you have your own dot mandala tools, please bring them. I will have some for sharing. I do recommend picking up a set on Amazon (search for "mandala dotting tools"). This venue at Magpie Home and Gift is BYOB, feel free to bring your favorite adult beverage and snacks! You might want to stop by Park Plaza Liquor and Deli across the street.
