Press release from SCLSNJ:
March 30, 2022
Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's (SCLSNJ) Manville branch installed a charging station in the lobby to help customers charge their portable devices. The self-sanitizing station allows customers to securely leave their phones or tablets connected to a charging cord utilizing a digital locking function. With the installation of this charging station, customers can keep connected to their loved ones and other sources for help in the aftermath of an emergency or storm.
"This new device is not limited to emergencies only, however," said Jen Fitzgerald, youth services department supervisor. "Many customers - especially families with young children or tweens and teens looking for a place to gather after school - spend an hour or more at the Library each time they visit. Having a place to charge up a phone securely while leisurely engaging with toys in our children's area, playing board games, or using a computer for homework, is another value-added service that the Library provides."
The Manville branch is located at 100 South 10th Avenue in Manville. To learn more, email [email protected].
